WHALERS BANTAM A1's FINISH RUNNER UP IN 15TH ANNUAL JACK McKEON HOLIDAY TOURNAMENT AFTER SHOOTOUT!!
The Bantam A1's posted a strong performance in this years McKeon Holiday Tournament in Hamden over the Christmas holiday week.
They posted a 2-0-1 record in pool play and advanced to the final at the end of the week. After an opening game tie (4-4) with Greater New Haven, they rebounded with back to back wins against Hamden (12-0) and Stamford (3-1), the A1's met Greater New Haven again in the final. 3 periods and a 5 minute over time period were not enough to settle the score and it came down to a shootout.
After 4 shooters and a great effort by Brendan Balch, the GNH Warriors were victorious winning 3-2. Congrats to the Bantam A1's for a hard fought tournament which they and our organization can be proud of.

In collaboration with the Connecticut Whale, Friday, February 3rd is Cancer Support Community Night at the XL Center in Hartford. The CT Whale will be taking on the Albany Devils at 7pm.
The Cancer Support Community of Southern Connecticut (CSC-SCT) is raising funds to open the first CSC facility in the state – a community where hope, education and support is provided free of charge to anyone --- patients, children, parents, coworkers, etc. --- impacted by cancer.
All proceeds from the tickets sold for this game through Doreen Brown will go toward CSC-SCT’s Open Our Door campaign.

posted 12/29/2011 The Whalers PEEWEE A1 finished as Runner Up in the Championship Game at the Barnstable Cap Cod Classic 12/26-12/28.
The Whalers PeeWee A1 tied the first game and won the next 2 games taking them to the Championship Game. The Championship Game was a great match up. The Whalers PeeWee A1 played the team they had tied earlier, Pembroke. Both teams played hard. It was a close game and very evenly matched. The Whalers showed great effort and demonstrated excellent teamwork. They battled hard but in the end Pembroke took the lead and won 2 to 1.

The Whalers are now planning the 2011-2012 Annual Banquet held at the end of our Hockey season. We are looking for volunteers to help in planning
all the activities and tasks necessary to pull it together. There are some really good ideas and activities already being looked at in order to make this an even better
event than last year, but we need more help.
